No.18 Chambers Welcomes Elicia Davis (2017) as she commences pupillage
No.18 are delighted to welcome Elicia Davis. Elicia commences pupillage on the 3rd April 2023, after being called to the Bar in November 2017.
Whilst studying at the Bar, Elicia volunteered at a number of pro bono legal organisations including Advocate, Support through Court, National Centre for Domestic Violence and Lawyers in the Soup Kitchen, where she was the director of the organisation overseeing the running of the weekly law clinic.
Since 2018 Elicia worked at the Home Office gaining a wealth of experience in all areas of immigration law. Initially as an asylum decision maker she assessed the merits of asylum claims made from designated countries. Elicia then spent 4 years as a Presenting Officer conducting over 2000 appeals on behalf of the Secretary of State for the Home Department at the First Tier Immigration Tribunal. In March 2022 Elicia completed a secondment to the Windrush Lessons Learned Review Revisit Team as a Senior Policy Advisor in which she assisted in assessing the implementation of the 30 recommendations by the Home Office in the initial Windrush Lessons Learned Review.
