Overview of HMCTS Recovery for Civil and Family Courts and Tribunals
Yesterday HMCTS published their recovery plan for Civil & Family Courts & Tribunals. As we know during pandemic they introduced measures throughout our courts & tribunals to increase capacity & maintain operations. This plan details their progress & sets out how they will continue to deliver our services. It details the progress that’s been made to safely increase capacity to deal with outstanding cases & sets out plans of how they will continue to deliver justice services for all users in these areas
It sets their 5 recovery pillars which can be summarised as follows:
- Maximising capacity of judiciary to sit as many days as possible
- Re-opening COVID-secure courtrooms
- Ensuring remote hearings continue to be supported effectively
- Increasing our staff numbers
- Continuing to build online services
